Jada Pinkett Smith Seeks Psychological Exam of Man Suing Her for $3 Million
Jada Pinkett Smith is asking a California judge to order a psychological examination of Bilaal Salaam, who is pursuing a $3 million emotional-distress lawsuit against her.
Jada Pinkett Smith is asking a California judge to require Bilaal Salaam to undergo a psychological examination as part of his $3 million lawsuit against her.
Salaam, who has been described as a former friend of Will Smith, alleges that Pinkett Smith threatened and intimidated him and that the alleged conduct caused serious emotional distress and other personal consequences.
Pinkett Smith denies Salaam’s allegations.
Her attorneys argue that because Salaam has placed his psychological and physical condition at the center of his lawsuit, they should be permitted to have an independent psychiatrist evaluate him.
The requested examination would reportedly last approximately five to six hours.
The lawsuit stems from an alleged confrontation in 2021 and was filed in late 2025.
Parts of Salaam’s case have already been removed after a judge partially granted an anti-SLAPP motion filed by Pinkett Smith. A separate attempt by Salaam to amend his complaint was denied in August.
Importantly, the requested psychological evaluation has not yet been approved by the court. A hearing is scheduled for Nov. 9.
The request is a procedural step in the litigation and does not establish whether Salaam’s allegations are true.
