The culture.
The conversation.
The Black Angle is an independent publication founded by writer and filmmaker Sean JonPaul Foster. The website launched in September 2026 as a home for Black perspectives on entertainment, culture, community and ownership.
Why this publication exists
Black life deserves coverage that makes room for ordinary experiences, creative ambition and disagreement alongside major headlines. We center Black artists, audiences and communities, with an emphasis on entertainment: music, film, television, comedy and the people creating what comes next.
Our perspective is progressive and pro-Black. That describes our editorial priorities, not a substitute for evidence. A claim still needs verification. An allegation is not a finding. A strong opinion should be identified as an opinion so readers can assess both the argument and its factual basis.
From watching to making
Sean’s creative work appears here through All Black Media, alongside his original stories and books, art and merchandise. Those are founder-owned projects, and we identify them that way. They reflect an interest in Black creators having more opportunities to build and distribute their own work.
That interest also shapes our guides. The AI filmmaking workflow describes Sean’s creative process. Our Black gaming commentary examines the possibilities and limits of new creation tools. Our reading and viewing guides explain their selections rather than presenting taste as a universal verdict.
How the work is produced
This is a small independent publication. Its news desk uses AI-assisted research and writing, and some stories are published through an automated workflow directed by the owner. We do not describe those summaries as on-the-ground reporting. Sources are linked, AI-assisted news is labeled, and the Creator Desk lets the owner edit, correct or remove articles.
Creator commentary can draw on the owner’s supplied views and experiences. AI-generated illustrations, fiction and simulations need clear context; they must not be presented as documentary evidence. Embedded videos remain credited to their creators and do not imply an endorsement or partnership.
Accountability and funding
Read our editorial standards and corrections process, affiliate disclosures and community and privacy information. Advertising, affiliate recommendations and founder-owned products are identified separately from editorial coverage.
To flag a factual error, use the discussion beneath the relevant article and begin your comment with “Correction.” Include the disputed passage and a reliable source. Comments are public: do not include private contact, financial or account information. A comment is a request for review, not an automatic correction or a promise of a response time.
