Gaza: Against genocide, for accountability.
The Black Angle opposes the genocide identified by UN investigators, war crimes, and attacks on civilians and journalists—and calls for an end to U.S. support that enables abuses.

The Black Angle stands against the genocide in Gaza identified by the UN’s independent Commission of Inquiry. We oppose war crimes, the targeting of civilians and journalists, and the use of civilian suffering as an instrument of war. We believe Israel’s government must face accountability, and that the United States must stop supplying weapons or political protection that enable abuses. This is the publication’s editorial position, grounded in the public record described below.
On September 16, 2025, the commission concluded that Israel had committed genocide in Gaza and that senior officials, including Benjamin Netanyahu, had incited it. Reuters reported that investigators cited killings, blocked aid, displacement and destruction, alongside officials’ statements. Israel rejected the findings and accused the commission of bias. The commission is independent; its conclusion does not itself constitute a judgment by an international court or a statement on behalf of the entire United Nations.
The criminal proceedings require equally precise language. On November 21, 2024, the International Criminal Court issued warrants for Netanyahu and former defense minister Yoav Gallant. Judges found reasonable grounds to believe they bore responsibility for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity, including starvation as a method of warfare, murder and persecution. Israel denied war crimes and disputed the court’s jurisdiction. Arrest warrants are not convictions. We support investigation and prosecution through a fair legal process, rather than describing an allegation as an adjudicated verdict.
Journalists’ deaths deserve more than a passing reference. In its February 25, 2026 report, the Committee to Protect Journalists attributed two-thirds of the 129 press deaths it documented worldwide in 2025 to Israel. CPJ also documented deliberate killings connected to journalists’ work, distinguishing those from other reporting-related deaths. These are the watchdog’s documented findings, not a claim that every journalist killed died in an intentionally targeted attack. The Black Angle condemns the targeted killings identified by CPJ and calls for independent investigations and consequences.
U.S. involvement is material, not merely rhetorical. The Congressional Research Service describes a military-assistance commitment of $38 billion over fiscal years 2019–2028, subject to congressional appropriations, and additional wartime assistance. That decade-long commitment is not a figure for spending in Gaza alone. It nevertheless establishes that Washington is a major military supporter of the Israeli state. Our view is that this relationship creates an urgent political and moral responsibility to prevent American support from enabling atrocities.
Accountability is also being contested diplomatically. Reuters reported on September 20, 2026 that the Trump administration was preparing sanctions against the ICC as an institution, citing people familiar with the plans; U.S. officials wanted warrants against Israeli leaders dropped. That report described preparations, not a completed new sanctions action. In our judgment, trying to disable scrutiny of an ally undermines the principle that civilian protection should apply regardless of who holds power.
Our position is directed at government conduct and the officials responsible for it, not at Jewish people or Israelis as a group. Opposition to antisemitism and opposition to the destruction of Palestinian life belong together. No attack on civilians, including attacks by Hamas, licenses attacks on other civilians. A child’s right to live cannot depend on which government claims to speak for that child.
We call for protection of civilians and reporters, full humanitarian access, preservation of evidence, independent investigations, and an end to arms transfers that risk facilitating these abuses. U.S. officials should support credible accountability rather than shield allies from it. Palestinian lives are not expendable, and acknowledging that should not require waiting for every legal process to reach its final page.
