Popular streamer and social media personality BenDaDonnn was arrested in College Station, Texas, following a chaotic encounter with police in the Northgate entertainment district after Texas A&M’s football game.
College Station police identified BenDaDonnn as 34-year-old Benjamin Beard of Miami. According to police, officers were attempting to clear people from the roadway in front of a bar when a group refused commands to move.
Police said the situation became physical while Beard was being detained. Authorities allege that his security guard, Kenny Carter, pushed an officer to the ground. Police said an officer then deployed a “less-lethal tool” while Beard was attempting to get away.
Beard was arrested on a charge of evading arrest and booked into the Brazos County Detention Center. His bond was set at $7,000. Carter was arrested for interference with public duties and received a $4,000 bond.
Earlier in the evening, BenDaDonnn had appeared on Texas A&M Football’s official social media account while attending the game.
Videos of the encounter quickly spread across social media, bringing national attention to the arrest.
The charges are allegations, and neither arrest represents a finding of guilt.
